Internal Communications Manager

Internal Communications Manager
Do you want to help achieve commercial objectives through better internal communications?

Are you keen to “spread the word” internally to build greater cohesion and a shared sense of direction in a geographically, culturally, and commercially diverse company? Do you want to contribute to raising the level of communications professionalism in an ambitious team and a department that plays a central role in multiple Group priority initiatives?  If so, we have an opportunity that should appeal to you.

Your new company
ROCKWOOL Group is the world’s leading supplier of innovative products based on stone wool. The Group’s operations have a large presence in Europe as well as North America, Russia, India and East Asia. In addition to supporting the CEO and other executives, the Group Communications team is focused on creating clear and compelling narratives – for internal as well as external uses – about the role ROCKWOOL products play in areas such as sustainability, energy efficiency, fire safety, and modern living more broadly. Based at corporate headquarters in Hedehusene, Denmark, the Group Communications team is a part of ROCKWOOL’s Group Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs department.

Your new role
In this position, you will work extensively on further developing and implementing internal communications tools, channels, and other initiatives that share the common goal to advance the Group’s commercial objectives via stronger communications coordination and cohesion throughout the Group. Among the Department’s key goals is to position ROCKWOOL as a leading voice in commercially relevant public and policy debates and to strengthen ROCKWOOL’s brand and reputation on the innovative cutting edge of addressing global megatrend challenges including climate change, sustainability, urbanisation, and more. ROCKWOOL employees at all levels contribute to achieving these goals, thus the priority on building greater communications cohesion and shared sense of direction across the Group.

Reporting to the Vice President for Group Communications, you will be responsible strategically and operationally for developing and implementing a range of internal communications activities and initiatives. You will work closely with colleagues across disciplines in generating new content for multiple channels, with a primary initial focus on the Group Intranet, for which you will be responsible for managing and further developing. As part of the communications team, you will collaborate with colleagues across the department, in other Group staff positions, and in the regions to drive employee engagement on internal communications initiatives, such as employee campaigns.

In short, you will play an important role in ROCKWOOL’s Group-led communications efforts.

What you´ll need to succeed
You have solid internal communications experience (min. 10 years) preferably in an international business environment. With your native or near-native English- and preferably Danish or other Scandinavian language skills, you are a very strong writer and communicator especially in English. You are curious by nature and have the intellect to seek out and convert new and existing information into clear, coherent, interesting stories for multiple internal purposes, though always with an eye on potential external uses as well.

You enjoy creating interesting and engaging content and developing and exploiting multiple communications channels. You understand what it takes to bind a geographically, culturally, and organisationally diverse company together through effective internal communications. A creative professional, you can work independently, while also engaging collaboratively across disciplines and geographies. You are well-organised and structured, being equally comfortable pursuing longer-term strategic initiatives as well as dealing with evolving priorities in a dynamic environment.  Educationally, you have at least a university degree in a broadly relevant discipline; the specific educational subject matter focus is less important.

What you´ll get in return
ROCKWOOL offers an important role in an international environment where communication, agility, and adaptability are key. You will be working within a highly ambitious department, supporting the Group’s commercial objectives.  There is much room for entrepreneurship and personal development. ROCKWOOL is proud of its friendly culture where teamwork and a down to earth attitude are common.
