Do you want to lead global media and digital communication in Novo Nordisk?

We are looking for a new Vice President to head up our Media & Digital team, which is part of Corporate Communication in Novo Nordisk. You are a perfect fit if you have solid experience in both media relations and digital communication and have both a strategic and an operational mindset. We also need you to be a good networker with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to constructively challenge the organisation and ourselves on how we work with communication.

Who we are  
Media & Digital is a department of 17 people, managing global media relations and issues and digital communication. The department works every day to build trust in Novo Nordisk and strengthen our reputation, and the team does that in close collaboration with colleagues in Corporate Communication and the greater network of Novo Nordisk communicators around the world.


The job  
As Vice President of Media & Digital you become part of the Corporate Communication management team and the Global Communication Leadership Team, that sets direction for the global communication function and executes on our communication priorities globally. You will be leading a team working on supporting Novo Nordisk’s business priorities by engaging with journalists, the general public and other key stakeholders globally.

In your role, you will be responsible for developing the global media strategy and drive profiling of Novo Nordisk in international media. You will also be responsible for driving Novo Nordisk’s corporate digital communication strategy and for managing a strategy with focus on integration and maximization of synergies between traditional media and digital media. 

Therefore, a deep insight into both the global media landscape, as well as a strong understanding of digital communication and the mix of earned, owned and paid media is a must. 

In your role, you will also drive communication strategy and tactics on complex issues and media crisis of a corporate nature, ensuring a globally aligned approach. 


Your key tasks and responsibilities will be to:

  • Act as direct responsible for the Media & Digital team

  • Develop global media strategy and build and maintain relations with key journalists and editors

  • Further develop our channel strategy to optimise the mix of traditional and digital media

  • Drive digital transformation of communication with focus on multi-channel engagement 

  • Advise senior leaders on media strategies and messaging

  • Manage interviews with members of Executive Management and other spokespeople in strong collaboration with the Investor Relations department

  • Manage and coordinate Novo Nordisk’s communication in issues of complex nature and in crisis situations

  • Act as Novo Nordisk spokesperson on news and issues when needed


You are an experienced communicator with a solid background in media relations and digital communication in a global context. Experience from pharma, biotech or a PR agency is an advantage. You have a deep understanding of digital channels and how owned, paid and earned media each play a role in building a corporate brand. You know how to drive business impact based on insights and data. You thrive in a complex and global organisation, and you are an excellent networker and people manager.

As a person, you are outgoing, flexible and proactive. You are result-oriented and an excellent communicator with advanced English skills. You know how to work in a multi-stakeholder organisation, and you enjoy working with colleagues and business partners – internally and externally – from around the world.

You have:

  • A master's degree or higher in journalism and/or a relevant university degree, eg political science, public relations, communication or digital media.

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably from an international corporation, organisation or agency working strategically with media relations and digital communication. 

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written. You will also be handling media requests from Danish journalists, but this can be done in English. 


The position is permanent and based at our headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark. We would like you to start as soon as possible. 

The job normally requires some travel days during the year in connection with events or training.
