Digital Communications Specialist
Are you a digital communications wizard with strong editorial skills? Can you write and edit compelling content in impeccable English? And can you drive digital communication in an international context? Then you may be our new Digital Communications Specialist.

The job

The Ida Institute is a non-profit organization working to create a community that embraces person-centered care in hearing. We have a global network of 18,000+ members and 27 partner organizations, and we work with hearing care professionals, academics, patients, and other experts around the world to develop methods, tools, and resources that enhance the quality of hearing care.

As our new digital communications specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and driving the development of our digital channels, including the Ida Institute website, our social media accounts, and weekly e-newsletter. As part of our small editorial team, you will research ideas, plan, write, and edit engaging content for our website and other channels, and you will serve as the liaison with our IT provider both for day-to-day trouble shooting and new developments on the website. You will also assist with a number of ad hoc editorial tasks, including proofreading of video captions, PowerPoints, annual reports, etc.   

You will contribute with your knowledge about Google Analytics, web design, and content development to identify new opportunities to boost traffic to our website and enhance our digital key performance indicators. You will report to the management on digital measurements and suggest ideas for engaging and growing our community through our digital communication. You will also contribute with your digital expertise to the development of new online tools for patients and hearing care professionals.



As our new digital communications specialist, you have:

  • experience working with the development and maintenance of digital platforms and social media 

  • excellent writing and editing skills and demonstrated ability to produce engaging copy for different formats, audiences, and channels in English (native level language skills required)

  • technical flair and experience working with content management systems (Typo3 or other), Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and SEO copywriting

  • an educational background in journalism, communication, or other relevant field

  • knowledge about UX, design thinking, and/or the healthcare sector is considered a plus
