I work for the EDB in Bahrain. The Economic Development Board (EDB) is a dynamic public agency with an overall responsibility for formulating and overseeing the economic development strategy of Bahrain, and for creating the right climate to attract direct investment into the Kingdom.  The primary role of Bahrain Financial Services Development is to assist financial services companies who want to establish a presence in Bahrain The EDB is chaired by His Highness the Crown Prince and Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The EDB's Board of Directors consists of seven key Ministers and seven leading Executives from the private sector.

My current role is:

To Manage and be responsible for the  team so that the department can efficiently and effectively achieve its and the EDB’s objectives. The primary objectives of the department are:

·         Enhance Bahrain’s competitive position

·         Support existing businesses located within Bahrain to ensure their continued presence and development

·         Identify and facilitate the opening of new markets for development

·         Seek out and encourage new businesses to establish themselves in Bahrain

·         To have responsibility for media relations (both domestic and internationally) and global communications

·         Raise awareness levels and improve perceptions of Bahrain as an international business  centre of excellence amongst target audiences by marketing and promotional activities

·         Have full responsibility and accountability for events budgets, authorised per event
